Annoying reboot reminder pop up for windows updates

0

Hi, i'm looking for a script or command to suppress the "Reboot reminder" popup for windows updates after i deploy them. I always schedule a reboot later through pdq (at like 2 AM), but when i deploy the updates throughout the day, end users call and freak out, when they get the pop up that asks them if they want to restart now or postpone. Is there a way to suppress that pop up?

Have you looked into the GPO settings ?

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update and select Turn off auto-restart notifications for update installations.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/waas-restart

I don't have access to GPO, i was hoping i could add a command/script to the package to fix it.

If you don't have access to GPO, you can just push out a reg key setting directly with PDQ Deploy. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/112184-configure-auto-restart-warning-notifications-updates-windows-10-a.html

thank you, I'll give this a go. Would you know of something similar for windows 7? We are in the process of upgrading all our PCs to 10 , but we still have 7 as the majority for our PCs.

The settings should be under the same key. https://www.guidingtech.com/18893/disable-windows-update-restart-reminder-notifications/

thank you
